About Us

DEPARO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – way back 1948 a couple of years just after the proclamation of Philippine Independence when a civic-minded and generous woman thought of putting up an institution because she believed that education plays an important role in the society. “The absence of formal education in the country drove foreign nations to conquer and rule us and education plays a big part in our liberation”, she narrated. Doña Maria Domingo Del Rosario unselfishly donated 2,500 sq. meters of their land property to the people of Deparo for that noble purpose.

So with 20 pupils, 1 teacher, and a small nipa hut as classroom, the school started its operation until finally put up one concrete classroom for Grades I and II then another one until it was completed into four classrooms. It was very hard for the barrio people to complete the elementary up to Grade VI because of financial difficulties so pupils from Deparo after Grade VI go to Bagumbong Elementary School which was already complete at that time to continue their studies. In short, pupils from Deparo were getting hard considering the distance from their houses to Bagumbong Elementary School, until the problem was realized by the Barrio officials and the community people. They requested the government through channels the need to solve problems because of fast increase in population and fortunately it was granted. In 1967, a complete elementary course was offered with six classrooms and six teachers.

As years passed the enrolment increased in a greater number and continued to increase yearly. Deparo Elementary started to grow so some buildings rose to accommodate more pupils in the barrio and the neighboring barrios.

The School is very competitive to among other schools in the city. Pupils, teachers, and administrators perform very well.

Now, Deparo Elementary School has a total population of almost 3,900 pupils, 101 permanent teachers under the management of DR. EDNA B. BALAJADIA, as Principal. The school at present has 7 buildings. It has complete ancillary services. Its present land area is 5,000 sq. meter.

Deparo Elementary School is now 70 years old, no wonder because the humble school already produced professionals and successful graduates. The school received several awards and distinct recognition and appreciation from several award-giving bodies. Academic Excellence was awarded by the Division of City Schools for several times.
